Echills Wood Railway 2022 Special Events
The calendar of the EWR has been disrupted from early 2020 by the Covid19 public safety restrictions operated by the government. We have managed to operate for the last few months and we list below the events planned for the rest of the year. Please check back later for further information.
Miniature Traction Engine Gathering. Click Here
May 13th 14th 15th. Miniature steam road vehicles will be gathering by the stations at Harvesters and Far Leys. Their operating area will be on the park road network giving the public the opportunity to have a ride and talk to the drivers /owners. The railway will be operating public passenger trains during Saturday & Sunday From 11am until 4:30pm.
Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration Weekend.
Standard Gauge Steam and Diesel Event. Click Here
July 15th 16th 17th. This event is open to members, friends, visitors and 7 1/4”gauge members who are owners and drivers of standard gauge locos. All locomotives and rolling stock operating over this weekend will be models based upon railways with a standard gauge of four foot eight and a half inches. (1/8th scale) Featuring visiting and locomotives based at the EWR. Look out for different types of passenger and freight trains, along with a breakdown crane! Public passenger trains will operating on Sunday 11th July until 4:30pm.

September 15th 16th 17th 18th. Narrow gauge engines of all types will gather at the railway. Most of their full size counterparts run on 24"gauge 30" or 1 metre. They will be obvious because they look bigger and heavier than the standard gauge models seen at the event above. It is a private event. However, the railway will be operating public passenger trains on Sunday 18th from 11am until 4:30pm.

October Saturday 29th Are you brave enough to ride the line on the scariest night of the year? Watch out for witches, monsters and other spooky surprises all around the line. The railway will be operating between 2pm and 8pm. Hot & Cold refreshments will be available from 2:00pm. External attractions and entertainment feature as part of this event. Those easily scared are advised not to ride after 5:00pm There is ticketing for a limited number of reserved seats. The rest are available on the day in the usual way; pay at Harvesters Station.
Winter Timetable Commences Sunday 1st November.
All public passenger trains on regular operating days will commence at 11am until 3:00pm.
(Except for Santa Special train weekends) Closing times will be at the discretion of the Duty Controller each day.
